I am a long time fan of both Sydney Grace products and Mel Thompson. (Clink on the link to read my prior interviews with them.) Heather co-owner of Sydney Grace and Mel, got together recently and produced an amazing, fanciful and top quality palette! I ordered it the day it released and it arrived with a 2 business days (Sydney Grace is known for it’s stellar customer service.)
There are so many looks which can be created from this palette. Don’t be timid about using some of the bright colors – these can be used blended out or built up for a bold look. In typical Sydney Grace formula – the mattes blend like butter as do all the other colors in this palette. Use a light touch as each color has a really good color payout. This palette colors and exterior design have Mel written all over it. From the adorable critters on the outside of the palette to the fanciful names, you’ll see Mel. Also, many of the colors were adapted to match some of the beautiful colors in her tattoos. There is only one repeat shade here – Scarab is the same as RedChameleon, which is one of my all time favorite colors from Sydney Grace.
I couldn’t wait to dig in and see what look would be fun to create. I love peach and lavender together so I opted to utilize the shades in the palette that would allow me to best showcase those colors. I packed Meadowhawk on the inner to mid-lid, along with Love Bug and Bug-A-Boo on the mid to outside of the eye. To blend the inner and outer colors utilized, I packed on Jewel-Bee and lightly blended the edges. I used a blend of Bug-a-Boo and Spyder on the under eye and used Spyder to line my upper eyelid. I finished it with a pop of Web in the coroner of each eye. The brushes I used all came from BK Beauty owned by Lisa Jauregui.
This palette sold out before the end of the first day it was offered. However, you can get it by placing your name on the pre-order list. As soon as they return to stock, they will begin filling orders. DO NOT forget to use “Yvonne15” to receive a 15% on your entire order (I do not get paid a fee if you utilize this. It’s a gift from Heather to my subscribers.)
