Meet Laura, Co-owner Of Sydney Grace
Sydney Grace is a company I had not heard of until several years ago. It is owned by sisters, Heather and Laura. When I began purchasing from them and subsequently had the privilege of interviewing Heather (Trivia and Sydney Grace) I learned what a high integrity, family oriented, customer focused all-around great person she is. Plus their eyeshadow products are top notch! I am pleased to say the company has continued to expand and grow through products and collaborations. It is a great pleasure to interview Laura, the other half of the Sydney Grace company! Both Heather and Laura are…
The Blessed Eyeshadow Palette – Glitzy Fritzy
I could not be happier to have one of my favorite influencers back for another interview! Mary, AKA, Glitzy Fritzy is back! If you follow her on social media, you know why she is so beloved. Mary is one of the most down to earth, kind, refreshing, what you see is what you get people around. And she is hysterical! I started following Mary several years ago and always enjoy her presentations. I feel truly blessed to know her. Mary most recently released an eyeshadow palette in collaboration with Sydney Grace. To celebrate their collaboration, I am also publishing an…
Anastasia Beverly Hills Nouveau Palette
I’ve never cared much for green eyeshadows and my sudden love of the greens in the ABH Nouveau palette has taken me by surprise! Here is how I used mostly greens from this palette as I applied my make up . I used the shadows in the order as numbered. One thing I I always do is barely, barely, barely, touch the brush into the color. It’s got awesome payout! I also blend very well. I put 1 down as an all over eye color. I follow with 2 and 3 in the crease. I blend these together very softly…
Tigers, Elephants, Butterflies and Hourglass Palettes, OH MY!
Oh Hourglass I love your products! I especially love the multi pan ambient lighting palettes that come out at the holidays. I have a number of them and they are some of my absolute favorites! This year however what are you doing? What are you thinking? You have three beautiful palettes and you are allowing people to choose the artwork (Tiger, elephant, or butterfly) and also choose the palette from three sets of pre-combined colors/formulas . The drawback is you can’t mix-and-match the individual products to make your own truly customize six pan palette. That said, I am confronted with the choice…
Anastasia Beverly Hills Nouveau palette review
Yes! Yes! Yes! The Anastasia Beverly Hills Nouveau palette just showed up today and I about knocked the delivery person over to get to it. OK that may be an exaggeration but the minute it got here I opened it and I am absolutely in freaking love!! This palette is beautiful in every way. From the cover and every shade that exists inside the palette. Today has been a fairly busy day so I didn’t bother with really getting glamorous and redoing my hair etc. But I had to try these beautiful colors. There’s a little bit of dust up…
Isn’t Make Up The Most Fun Ever?
Having fun with my new Angie Hot and Flashy x BK Beauty brushes! Just got a cut and color & pulled out two palettes I never use and I fell in love with them again. (Tartelette in Bloom and Milani Most Loved Mattes) Also love my new BK Beauty lipstick and liner (Pink Lady liner & Kindness lipstick) Added a soft swipe of Fenty gloss) Isn’t make up just the most fun? #makeupaddict @blopezhair (best stylist ever) @thebkbeauty @milanicosmetics @fentybeauty @tartecosmetics @angiehotandflashy @hourglasscosmetics #thisiswhat70lookslike

Sydney Grace, Lavender & Grey Look
I started looking through my Sydney Grace colors the other day and I decided that I really needed to do something with lavender and gray. Here’s the look I came up with as well as the colors utilized. Please note that I also used an eyeshadow color and topped it with a clear gloss to make my lip color. It’s one of my favorite things to do! Use my code “yvonne15’ for a 15% discount on your order. SydneyGrace.com
Dominika – Interview With A Smart, Beautiful and Strong Woman
Thank you for participating in my blog! You are so much fun to follow on Instagram, and I always learn from your tutorials! I originally found you when Viseart Paris shared your looks on their Instagram page. I followed one of your tutorials which showcased the stunning Viseart palette, Violette Etendu. One of my favorite beauty influencers, Lisa J Makeup, included the most beautiful shade of purple (Kate) in her newly released palette which in turn led me to the Viseart palette. While you and I share a love of eyeshadow, you are a true artist when it comes to…
Viseart Mini Petits Fours Eyeshadow Palettes – A Review
So these little precious things arrived recently! I purchase two of the new Viseart petite fours palettes. They are so stinking cute. But lets talk about performance – The colors and composition of these are gorgeous. They are not however, “..Sydney Grace (SG) composition”. By that I mean that you get instant color and payoff when you use SG. The Viseart colors and very, very light. You can build them up to get a darker shade but I don’t think you will get a really deep shade doing this. I used all four shades of “Chocolat” today. I wet the…
BK Beauty – An interview With Lisa J
By now it’s no secret you’re one of my favorite beauty influencers! I know I share that sentiment with many others. Your genuine kindness and business acumen make for a compelling businessperson. When I first interviewed you in July of 2019, you were on the verge of releasing your new product line – BK Beauty. Tell us about all the fantastic changes to your life and business since then. Wow! Thank you for that incredibly sweet compliment Yvonne. The last year has been amazing, and there have been many days I just can’t believe that this is my life. BK…

Glitzy Fritzy – Meet the real Mary!
Mary is so refreshing and just downright real! If you want to laugh at life while learning about a few products you need to turn in to Mary’s channel. Her title says it all – Glitzy Fritzy. She is honest and kind while being professional. I think she is awesome and hope you enjoy her wonderful interview! (And comment on this and tell me she made you smile!) Welcome! Using a large glass measuring cup, a potato masher and beauty blenders. WHAT!!??
What does a large glass measuring cup, a potato masher and beauty blenders have in common? Well, if you love to get your beauty blenders clean and looking (almost) new, give this a try. Fill the cup up with boiling water and add Dawn dish soap. Toss in the beauty blenders and use the potato masher to gently mash them clean. You can also use the masher to scoop them out and run them under cold water before wringing them out.
Alicia is Kinkysweat. She’s a Trifecta Powerhouse!
I’m super pleased to host Alicia, aka, better known as Kinkysweat. Her channel name is a combination of “kinky is her hair” and “sweat is her lifestyle”. Plus a little makeup thrown in. Alicia is a breath of fresh air. Her unassuming style combined by. a wicked sense of humor are simply addicting. I’m confident you will enjoy getting to. know her as much as I did. I can’t remember who told me to start watching you but whoever it was I owe them a huge “Thanks”! Your style is so down to earth and FUN! Tell my readers…
An Interview with Anne P – Elegant, Entertaining and Educational
I’ve been watching Anne for quite some time. I originally liked her channel when it was all about crafting and became intrigued as she transitioned to beauty. She is a no-nonsense, down to earth, honest beauty blogger who isn’t afraid to speak her mind when it’s appropriate. Her approach to beauty has been evolving from make up to more skin care focus. (Something I am a firm believer in.) Anne is always entertaining and educational! Enjoy this delightful interview! I originally found your YouTube channel when I was looking for different methods to use for a craft and your channel…

Gemma radiates joy and fun! She is a trained aesthetician and approaches things with an eye to heathy products. Her mum, Jan, frequently makes guest appearances and they are a dynamo team. They have a wonderful relationship and if you are under 40 you’ll pick of loads of tips and techniques from Gemma. The over 40 crowd will also pick up scads of tips from her mom. Either way, they are delightful together and Gemma is a informative and fun beauty influencer to follow. You started your YouTube channel in 2017. Please tell us a little bit about why you…
Wayne Goss, The Luxury Eye Palette. Yes or No?
Previous Next I was really on the fence about this new palette created by Wayne Goss as I already have so many similar palettes. In Wayne’s introductory demo of this palette, he mentioned that he targeted/tested it with the 40 to 60+ year old women in mind. This intrigued me because not many companies test or target for that age range. Additionally I watched Lisa J’s video as she tested this product, and she commented that these were great for mature or textured skin. I decided to go for it and order it. When my palette arrived I used all the…
The Wizards of Tiny Marvels – Sydney Grace and Mel Thompson – THE BEST!!!
Previous Next I am a long time fan of both Sydney Grace products and Mel Thompson. (Clink on the link to read my prior interviews with them.) Heather co-owner of Sydney Grace and Mel, got together recently and produced an amazing, fanciful and top quality palette! I ordered it the day it released and it arrived with a 2 business days (Sydney Grace is known for it’s stellar customer service.) There are so many looks which can be created from this palette. Don’t be timid about using some of the bright colors – these can be used blended out or…
2am With Sydney Grace
So what do you do when you can’t sleep at 2 o’clock in the morning? You go in the bathroom put on a headband and start putting make up on. I’ve recently pulled out all my Sydney Grace shadows and absolutely once again am head over heels in love with them. I never seem to be able to do a really dark look. I thought this might be as close as I’ll ever come. It was a ton of fun and I was reminded how much fun makeup can and should be for all of us.
Behind The Blog – Conversations With Real Women From Beauty Chit Chat
Several years ago I begin watching YouTube videos on make-up and skin care. One blog which consistently drew me back to their site was run by Lisa Jauregui (Lisa J Makeup). I joined her Facebook group (Beauty Chit Chat or BCC) which now boasts almost 8K subscribers. I really came to enjoy this site for it’s unique and diverse participants. I also enjoyed it’s kind, community spirit, something rarely found in many other sites. There is never a shortage of discussion on the latest make-up trends, questions on what to use for what skin type etc., and just all around support…
Thank you Pat McGrath
Thank you Pat McGrath for your amazing eyeshadow palettes. Bronze Ambition seemed like just the right thing for the Phoenix sun today! @patmcgrathreal #thisiswhat68lookslike #allthefeelskeepinitreal
Premium Mini Face Steamer
I had no idea I would like this mini facial mister as much as I do. I use it as part of my skin care regime to keep my skin hydrated. I also spray my face once all my makeup is on and this seems to make my makeup melt into my skin and look so natural. The spray is so fine – there are no droplets on your skin. I use it throughout the day to refresh my skin.I’m seriously considering buying another one to toss in my purse and leave one at home. It’s small (1.3 x 1.3…
Easy Daytime Look for Spring!
wanted to do something simple and easy this morning as I had a lot to do today. I used the things you see in the photo to get this soft and easy look. The thing I am really loving most right now is the Too Faced Sugar Peach wet & dry face & eye palette! I use it in conjunction with the Sephora eye love palette and they continue to make a good duet. I wanted a bold but soft spring look so after using the left hand color all over my lid, I used the top middle and far…
Review of Pat McGrath Bronze Ambition Palette (Spoiler.- I love it!)
I tried out my new Pat McGrath Bronze Ambition palette today. I had done a test swatch on my lids prior and decided, based on that swatch, that I would use a matte shade from another palette. (Too Faced Natural Matte). I used a combo of Heaven and Nude Goals as my base. I also used Cleavage as a transition shade. From the Pat McGrath palette I used Throwing Shade & Illicit in crease and outer end of eye. Added in some Gold Rush and Bronze Rush in center blending to inside corner of eye. I’m very pleased with this…
Meet Abby Bliss White – Personal Trainer, Yoga Teacher, Nutrition Coach and More!
You and I hail from the same general local. We recently moved from Seattle to the Phoenix area. You are living in the Portland area. Both locations are simply beautiful and offer such an abundance of culinary wonderment while also managing to keep folks health conscious. What drew you to Portland? Such great locations! We landed in the beautiful city of Portland because my husband’s ‘mid-life crisis’ was to go back to law school in his 40’s. We were living in Austin, TX at the time and he applied to law schools across the country but Lewis & Clark Law…

What Do Nicole Kidman, Empty Nesting and a Book Club Have in Common? Ms Gold Girl!
I started watching Marnie several years ago along with a few other beauty bloggers. The one thing “my favorite” bloggers all have in common is their ‘niceness’. They all feel like they could easily pull up a chair with my ‘tribe’ and fit right in. Marnie is no exception to this. Additionally, it is no surprise that Marnie and my other ‘favorite bloggers’ are friends in real life. As I keep saying, nice finds nice. I love Marnie’s down to earth approach to her channel and her life. She is as at home showing new skin care options as she is interviewing Nicole…
Gorgeous Celebrity Makeup Artist, Beauty Blogger- Elle!
Elle was one of the first beauty bloggers I watched. I love her ability to relate to her audience. She is another one of the “nice” bloggers who would easily fit in with my friends. Elle isn’t afraid to let her guard down and share the “darkness” and the “light” that makes up life. Her comfort in speaking about genuine challenges in her life while showing us what the best way to get a natural summer glow only endears us further to her. Her focus on her family is warm and very genuine! Her delight in her family literally…
Kelsee Briana Jai: Smart, Funny And Did I Mention, A Great Friend
Earlier this year I had the pleasure of doing an interview with Mel Thompson. Mel mentioned that she owed her start on YouTube to her friend Kelsee. Since my blog strongly supports strong interpersonal relationships, I had to do a little research and find out exactly who Kelsee was. She turned out to be the kind of friend that we all wish we had; funny, smart, and supportive. As I learned about Kelsee I was sure I would love to sit down with her and talk about everything from books to make up to life’s great mysteries. I’m sure as you read about Kelsee you will…
Beauty Blogger Trivia: Heather Baker From Sydney Grace
In my original interview with Heather we spoke mostly about her business and the gorgeous cosmetic line, Sydney Grace, that she has developed with her sister. Several of you mentioned that you would love to see a set of Trivia questions posed to our bloggers. (Thanks to Kim May for being the 1st to pose the question.). Below are twenty questions for Heather. Enjoy and please feel free to leave other questions or comments below! Regular milk or chocolate milk? Chocolate. What’s your guilty pleasure? Dr. Pepper. Morning person or night owl? Night owl. Who cleans your house? I do…
SAD UPDATE: Mel Thompson passed away on 9.27.2021 – see below
SAD UPDATE – Mel Thompson PASSED AWAY ON 9/26/2021. Her light will be so very missed and I am sure you join me in prayer for her loved ones who mourn her loss. Thank you for sharing yourself with all of us Mel! You were loved! What do Mommas, Motorcycles and Makeup Have in Common? Mel Thompson! Mel is a momma, she personifies makeup and rides a motorcycle. (A Ducati to be exact.) You may have noticed a trend if you’ve been reading my blog since I started it; the people that I’m interviewing are all incredibly nice human beings.…
A Beautiful “Blogcast” Featuring Emily Eddington Dihle, (aka, Emily Noel) Founder of Beauty Broadcast
Several years ago I started watching beauty videos on YouTube. There are a wide variety of offerings in this category. I try to ensure that any content I watch or read is positive and uplifting. There is no flush valve for my brain so if I put garbage or negativity in, there is no way to remove it. Therefore, I am selective about who and what type of content I am interested in spending my time on. As I searched for beauty topics of interest to me, I continued to find YouTube videos from Emily Noel (EmilyNoel83). I enjoy a number…
Beauty and Kindness – An Interview with Lisa J Makeup
Several years ago I begin watching YouTube videos on make up and skin care. It was clear to me that they were many different kinds of people providing content. As we all know most of us gravitate towards people with whom we feel we have commonality. This was the case as I narrowed my interest list on YouTube. One person who consistently drew me back to their site was Lisa J Makeup. She is a highly trained make up artist whose positive demeanor makes watching her videos a pleasure. Additionally she is somebody who looks for ways to give back to her community…
Sydney Grace Cosmetics
A new Indie line of cosmetics is out and it’s a hit!! When was the last time you heard consistent praise like this for a new eyeshadow, blush or highlighter? Spectacular shades, so blendable, soft, silky, excellent, stupendous The line that has people talking (and buying by the truck load) is Sydney Grace Company. I recently made the acquaintance of the co-owner of Sydney Grace, Heather McCullough Baker, and she does not disappoint. I am so pleased that she is my first official guest interview! So how did this happen? I belong to a Facebook page run by a YouTuber named Lisa…
Help me sisters for I have sinned!
Despite making a solemn vow to myself that I would not buy more make up, more palettes, more skin care… I did
