• If you’re a chameleon, change is easy and awesome!  If you’re  human, it may be challenging and frightening.
  • The Covid-19 virus has placed us all in a position of unknown, unasked for, and uncomfortable change.
  • Physical changes, such as shortness of breath, shallow breathing, and feeling light headed are clear indicators of our stress levels.  Breathing is obviously an important function but do you realize the negative impact breathing incorrectly can have on your body, mind and health?
  • Also, many of our children, along with each of us, are unprepared and unaware of how best to express the angst and unease they are feeling due to the myriad number of changes in our routines and lives.
  • It’s so refreshing to have two people as guest authors this month who can help us navigate these challenges.
  • Steffani Stephens is a Transformational Breathwork coach and trainer and has written a wonderful article describing the practical and intentional methods of breathing for both adults and children. We ALL need these lessons as they enable us in so many ways.
  • Additionally, Liz Erickson, my daughter-in-law, has written a wonderful (free) book for your littles. “The Day the Germ Threw a Party.” It’s a free PDF (with blank boxes on each page to allow kiddos to draw a picture). It tells a light-hearted story about a germ named Pudgkin who really wants to have a party — with lots and lots of fellow germs and how unfortunately, the amount of germs he creates affects us humans a bit here on earth. It’s a story meant to allow parents to talk about germs, what they might look like, about Pudgkin, and about how life isn’t really the same right now, but will get better in time.
  • Two small opportunities, but ones that allow you to gain a bit of control over your life while helping you respond positively to the changes in our world.
