All too often we rush thru our days, busy with family, work, chores. We rarely STOP and absorb the gifts of the moment.
Waking up as night gives way to day, sitting quietly in its awakening and absorbing the majesty of the birth of opportunity for another day is manna for body, mind and soul.
Nights obsidian darkness, punctuated by shards of stellar starlight haunt our eyes with shadows and secrets. Slowly the cloak of rich, nighttime darkness warms to a soft muted grey, comforting in its drabness while serving as a buffer from the secrets of the night to the starkness of daylight. Silently we wait in anticipation for dawn to stretch it’s warm, lazy arms of daylight across the sky.
Slowly, blackness turns to rich oranges, yellows and brilliant red. The cool, deep, dark, richness of night acquiesces to the warmth, promise, and brilliance of the new day.
In concert, led by an invisible conductor of nature, the birds sing in the day. Their song evokes the daylight to creep slowly awake until all shadows of the night has been erased and the omnipresence of opportunity throws it’s golden cloak across the vista.
In the madness of life that we all create and participate in, be still. Enjoy the moment, experience the promise and anticipate the beauty that is ever present. Allow the golden threads of the new day to wrap you in promise, joy and peace.
